Express Services
Different
Express Services Pty Ltd, a family-owned business, has been operating as port agents in Walvis Bay, Namibia, since 1985. Our primary focus is on serving vessels and rigs in the oil and gas industry, providing essential services such as bunkering, provisions, crew changes, dry-docking, and the import and export of spares.
Over the years, we have also managed various seismic surveys and oceanographic research projects along the Namibian coast. Our overnight service between Windhoek and the coast ensures efficient handling of shipments for both vessel and local clients. Our in-house clearing and forwarding team expertly manages all customs documentation for import and export shipments for local and international clients. We have extensive experience handling specialized project cargoes and livestock exports, with 400 square meters of warehouse space adjacent to our offices to ensure the safekeeping of client cargo.

Here are some highlights from
our recent work:
November 2014
We handled three drill ships at anchor simultaneously—a first for Namibia. Within five days, we managed 730 crew members and approximately 300 tons of spares and provisions, using local launches to transport supplies and tanker vessels to deliver around 8,000 tons of gas oil. This success showcased our ability to provide top-class service even with limited resources.
Early 2016
We facilitated the first successful 5-year Special Periodic Survey (SPS) inspection of a semi-submersible rig at anchor. Additionally, we offered lay-up solutions for vessels and rigs during the economic downturn.
Mid 2018 - 2019
The rig that underwent the 5-year SPS inspection returned for an upgrade project, during which we transported approximately 6,500 tons of spares, equipment, tools, and provisions between the rig and shore. We also prepared the rig for cold stacking in a three-month project.
2020 - 2021
During the COVID-19 downturn, we serviced three drill ships and one semi-submersible rig. Two of these drill ships have since been reactivated and returned to Angola for drilling projects.
2021
We implemented the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system to ensure full compliance and top-quality service. We began reactivation of the drill ships West Gemini and Sonangol Quenguela, with both successfully returning to drilling projects in Angola by February 2022.
2022
We secured dry-docking projects for several Svitzer tugs operating on the West African coast. We facilitated crew changes on the drillship Valaris DS-10 during Namibia's first major oil discovery. We continue to provide vessel agency services to Afrishore for rigs involved in Namibian drilling projects and have assisted Shearwater with multiple seismic projects.
2023
We successfully executed two seismic projects for Shearwater and provided agency assistance for Afrishore on the rigs Deepsea Bolsta and Deepsea Mira. Additionally, we supported the German research vessel, Meteor, during its oceanographic research project.
2024
we managed the Amazon Conqueror from Shearwater for its seismic operations and initiated a new seismic project with Argeo, involving their vessel, the Argeo Venture. Furthermore, we were appointed as the sole agent in Namibia by Pentagon Freight Services.
